At the first game held on Saturday, KT won the game 3-2. KT's Moon Sang-chul took the lead with a two-run homer in the second inning and maintained a one-run lead in a tight race between pitchers. 

The LG Twins announced on Monday Lim Chan-kyu as its starting pitcher for the second round. KT plans to have Um Sang-baek as its starting pitcher.

Lim Chan-kyu has heavy shoulders. After losing the first game, LG must secure the second game without fail. Lim Chan-kyu pitched in 25 games this year, recording 10-6 losses and an ERA of 3.83. After 14 wins last year, he has recorded 10 wins for two consecutive years. 

Lim displayed good pitching in the second half of this season. He showed stability in quality starts in six consecutive games at the end of this season, and posted an ERA of 1.82 in four games in September. 

Lim was strong against KT as well. He pitched well with three wins and no loss with an ERA of 2.70 in four games. This is why manager Yeom Kyung-yeop picked Lim as the starting pitcher for the second round. 

KT, which won the first game and had an 88% chance of advancing to the playoffs, predicted that it would be Um Sang-baek as a starter in the second game. 

Um had 13 wins and 10 losses and a 4.88 ERA in 29 games this season. He was good in the latter half of this season. He excelled in three games since September, with two wins and no loss in ERA of 0.59. However, his performance was not that good against LG this season. He pitched in two games, with one win and one loss with an ERA of 8.44. He won by two runs in five innings on June 23 and lost by eight runs in five ⅔ innings on August 30.  

Um Sang-baek took the mound as a starting pitcher in the 5th place match against SSG on the 1st and allowed 4 hits and 2 runs in 4 ⅔ innings. He will take the mound as a starter after resting for 4 days. There is little burden of physical strength. 

LG's top hitter Hong Chang-ki was strong with three hits in six at-bats against Um Sang-baek, Kim Hyun-soo was three hits in six at-bats with one home run, Moon Bo-kyung was two hits in five at-bats with one home run and Oh Ji-hwan was two hits in three at-bats.
